Examples:

Dancey Howes School Project   School Projects
In February of 2007, Dancey Howes, an 8th Grader from French Creek West Virginia asked us to help her with her social studies project. Dancey wanted information on why it was important to save the fish house. We emailed information and photos back and forth to Dancey. She won her school fair and later went on to win the County fair and on to the state finals where she placed third.

Museum of History Family Day   Exhibits
OWWA was asked to participate in family Day at the NC Museum of History in Raleigh. The topic was crabs and pound nets. The display was geared for children – with items they can touch. OWWA also gave a short talk on the watermen of Ocracoke.

The Museum of History paid for travel expenses.
